This book reveals the idea of home, everyday life and familial relationships through domestic spaces of present and juxtaposing them with found images from personal family archives.
What is our relationship with the spaces we inhabit? How does a home provide us a sense of belonging?

The photographs are shot in Yelahanka New town, Bangalore where I studied and lived for four years.
They focus on still life, passageways, hallways, the domestic interiors and exterior.
The domestic space is a meeting place of the family; the form or sphere under which these relations exist and manifest themselves. Every lived house invokes an echo of experiences within that structure. These spaces and objects talk about a life being lived, a narrative being woven, but without the presence of a human figure.
The archival photos are in contrast to the present day photographs, which are full of life, celebrations and people. The people in these photographs (my grandparents) are no more and their absence echoes throughout the photobook.
Family Archival Images
Memory and nostalgia is used as a tool to reveal layers of my identity and to inquire into my family history to understand the nuances of home and belonging.
