apomechanes - nonlinear design strategies

The exhibition apomechanes: nonlinear computational design strategies was held on January 2011 at Michalis Cacoyannis Foundation, Athens, and it presented selected projects from apomechanes studios 2009 & 2010. Apomechanes is an international intensive studio held each summer in Athens, Greece with the participation of students and professionals coming from various creative fields. The studio is devoted to furthering techniques and concepts of algorithmic processes as means for design and fabrication. Algorithmic design introduces processes that allow the genetic growth of complex structures and forms, with the use of simple syntactic rules.
The exhibition was accompanied by a publication under the same name, for which asprimera publications were honored with 2 best design awards [Best book design award and best cover design award] at the annual EBGE [Greek Graphic Design Awards].
