This chair was an exercise in combining 2 very different design styles
Brutalism & Memphis design
Brutalism
 I used ubiquitous mass manufactured materials to construct the chair. no material is precious and the design is easily multiplied and manufactured for the masses

Memphis
The design only uses simple shapes (like something you would see on a mobile) and puts the form over the function, making the piece more sculptural than practical.
The bronze ball is the centerpiece of this chair. Visually it holds the chair together. Both styles I researched are classified as post modern. The bronze ball represents the modernism style that both Brutalism and Memphis stemmed from.
