PRODUCT DESIGN - Designing a table lamp
Rationale
For this lesson, we were supposed to create a table lamp. I was doing some research on various table lamps on the internet and I found that I gravitated towards minimalistic and contemporary designs. I wanted to create something that looked unique and very eye-catching. At first, i designed the table lamp in such a way where the materials used were just wood and fabrics and the fabric material would be wrapped around the wooden frame similar to how the glass wraps around the frame. I realised that to make it look even more unique, I used glass instead. This was a much better alternative as now the light was brighter but not blinding. The glass is also warped and has some patterns to add some texture and a unique look to it. I also used a circular light bulb and placed it right in the middle of the lamp. I think the circular light bulb looks much better than the normal light bulb shape that is commonly seen in most lamps. I think this is the perfect lamp to put on a side table or even as a decorative piece in the living room because it is not only functional but also stylish
