Integrated Branding System: Restaurant

Concept: Cyberpunk Japanese Restaurant
 
Cyberpunk refers to a techno futuristic world. A general assumption is that Asia will make giant super-mechs and robots first. I chose this restaurant to serve Japanese food because a Japanese street fashion, called harajuku, is similar to some concepts on what cyberpunks would wear.
 
I had imagined this dining experience to involve blacklights, glow sticks, and waiters in crazy uniforms. The bold colors in my piece are an imitation of glowing black light colors. In the restaurant there would be a dim white light over the tables so customers can actually read what's on the menu. Also, it would be inconvenient for the customers if they couldn’t read what’s on their takeout packaging without the use of a blacklight. We don’t want to scare them away.

Another element of cyberpunk is the need for a somewhat retro but mechanical feeling. I felt that circles, centrifugal motion, and having to physically involve customers with the restaurant would be appealing and a strong reference to cyberpunk.
