ACSS (ARAB COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL SCIENCES)

The Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) is a regional, independent, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening social science research and knowledge production in the Arab world.
A brand identity was developed to promote ACSS 4th conference titled “Power, Borders and Ecologies in Arab Societies: Practices and Imaginaries” that was held in Beirut on April 12-14, 2019. The visual identity was based on a texture created out of scratches that connote the idea of disruption. The intricate relations created by the intersection of the visual elements, and the bold and structured typographic composition reflect on the struggles, tensions, power relations, challenges, and complex patterns highlighted in the conference topics.

A 60-page bilingual program and a foldout schedule/leaflet was designed in addition to the events’ collaterals which included social media visuals, invites, banners, presentation templates, backdrop banners and signage.
