With 1.2 million square feet in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Here East brings together business, tech, media, education and data in the pursuit of innovation. Their Canalside retail destinations bring independent retailers together with artisans, makers and entrepreneurs.

Here East needed to attract a new tenant to one of these retail units, whilst brightening up the unit's empty window space.

After a site visit I drafted a representation of the vacant space, into which I designed a bold, eye-catching and on-brand illustration that echoed the vibrant nature of the area and the desired tenant (a bar, restaurant or similar business). Working with Design East for the printing and installation, this was then primarily produced on contra-vision perforated film to allow light to permeate the space. The design itself then featured a cut-out section so that visitors could gain a partial view of the empty retail space. Agent details and the retail unit type were called out using brand colours, with the former applied to a solid vinyl for legibility.
