A 3D form in thermocol that represents ‘Pick & Speak’.
While starting , the thermocol was in a cubical block of 4x4x4’’ dimensions. A small circle is carved inside at the center on top and a further bigger circle is carved at the bottom.one side is given an ‘s’ shaped curve , and smoothened nicely , that enables us to pick the object when we look at it. This shape provides comfort to hold the object as well. The whole surfaces are further smoothened nicely with finer grades of sand paper. The inner circular curves are given in such a way that it represents something resembling a diaphragm , that takes and reflects our voice. Hence the size increases from top to bottom , it shows that the voice also just echoes like that.Sand paper of various grades is used for carving and final touch-ups.
Waterfall done in a relief with plaster of paris. The left side picture shows the process involved. The design was made on a clay block. This work is dried well in sunlight and then a layer of white cement liquid is poured on top in a wooden tray. After drying , it is tilted upside down. The clay is carved out and cleaned nicely. The second picture shows the mesh.It is again dried in the sun and a layer of Plaster of Paris in liquid form is poured on it.After drying , this is seperated from the mesh.
