Mobile Apps Taking Advantage of Internet of Things (IoT)

We can see immense growth in mobile app development because of the high demand from users.  Technology has given us great new ways to use phones and engaging apps that really help a user in their daily life. It is true that there are many mobile apps that are developed to solve real problems. Mobile apps have become a necessity for every user and industry. Today,  every business needs a mobile app to run a business in the market.
Mobile serves all industries as well as taking advantage of IoT devices. IoT (Internet of Things) devices are really helpful in increasing the use of mobile apps. Today, IoT is common in almost every industry. According to a report, it was estimated that 94 percent of businesses would use IoT by the end of 2020.
In 2021, there were more than 10 million active IoT devices. The best tool that can be used to properly harness the benefits of IoT solutions is the mobile phone. And as we said, accessing IoT solutions via mobile apps is logical because mobile app development is inexpensive.
Let’s see how mobile apps are leveraging the Internet of Things.

Wearable

Wearable devices like wristwatches are in vogue. Users find it more attractive because they can monitor the devices via the app.  For example, there are many wristwatches or wristbands that come with an app that helps you to monitor your watch. With the app, you can find your phone if it gets lost, and the app will also notify you once the charge gets low, it includes other features as well.  But how do these apps connect with my wristband or any wearable device? This is possible using connections like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.  In this way, any type of data can be exchanged between the two devices.

Healthcare

IoT solutions have helped the healthcare industry. Today, there are thousands of healthcare apps available to provide the service. Medical facilities provide devices that are able to connect with apps. These medical devices come with sensors that collect patients' health data and transfer it to the mobile app.
The data helps doctors and family members stay updated with the health report.  The health report can be transferred remotely to the doctor or family member in case of an emergency.

Smart Homes

Today, homes are becoming smart homes. An IoT solution has converted conventional home appliances into digital products. Home appliances come with a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.  Home appliances like fridges, bulbs, ACs, and others can be controlled remotely using a mobile device app.

Agriculture

IoT also covers the agriculture industry. IoT-based sensible farming is employed to monitor field crops with sensors (light, temperature, humidity, soil wetness, and so on).  These sensors help farmers to get to know their farmland and crop conditions remotely using their mobile devices. Devices like drones actually help farmers to keep an eye on the field.

Retail

The retail industry is one of the biggest industries benefiting from the IoT by using mobile device apps. The use of IoT in the retail industry is connected to GPS and RFID technologies. It helps the retailer keep track of the products throughout the entire supply chain process.
