As a self-described documentarian, I observe life as a mirror before me, reflecting what I am. My identity as a constant foreigner has guided me through over thirty countries in a decade in the pursuit of image and idea making, only to lead me back home –to face my own looking glass.
I photograph people, objects, and places that I relate to. These documented images exist as a result of me looking for moments when my subjects put themselves on display without realizing it. They are about exposure in every aspect – knowledge, nakedness, the gifts and wounds we acquire from living, and growing. As a result, the subjects are present and normal, yet somehow misplaced and inappropriately out of sync. Here. At the core, is about being a foreigner.
