During January and February of 2014, I was recruited to join a team of architects and textiles designers en route to post-civil war Sri Lanka. Their goal was to obtain a intensive cultural study and meet the orphanages and designers that they will partner with in the upcoming years. After meeting leading architects in the country, working under textile artisans who are paving the way for a new source of income for Sri Lanka, and volunteering at just one of the many orphanages scattered across the country, I created an extensive archive of images of the expedition. My team will continue to present these photographs along side their research, which will encourage further global action for rebuilding and visualize the unnoticed wonders this greatly overlooked nation offers.
The following are a small portion of this archive.
