Character Plush Doll Design

This Design was originally created for my Final Major Project at College. I had originally used this design for Mock-ups of Merchandise in relation to my Final outcomes.

The theme of this Project was “Journey”, and had 3 different sections to choose from:

.Migration
.Imagination
.Physical

I decided to stick to Imagination where I designed 3 sets of Outcomes that related to a story related to Chinese Mythology. The 3 Outcomes were a Book Cover/ Sleeve, Advertisement Poster and a set of 2 Bookmarks.

I designed a Character which would shift between human and a Shenlong Dragon (which comes from Ancient Chinese Mythology). I chose this character to design for a plush doll because I believed that it would be a simple and appropriate design that would reach for the younger half of my target audience (Young Teens - Adults).

With small parts such as the Buttons, it wouldn’t to be suitable for small children due to hazards of choking.

H: 250mm
W: 125mm

Ideas for materials: Either a cotton material hand sewn or via sewing machine, or crocheted with Yarn of a medium thickness. Medium/Large Buttons for the eyes. Patches of cotton material, or dapped paint for texture of scales. Plush Stuffing.

This is still a quick design which I will still work want to improve and make it out to be more achievable to create.
