During Wintersession I went abroad to Italy for a shoe design class. After spending three weeks in Turin, Milan, and Florence visiting to several shoe, car, handbag, leather, and silk factories and museums, we were given the assignment to create a shoe prototype that was inspired by these experiences. The inspiration for my shoe came from the Italian architecture, artisans, silk factory, La Scala Opera house, and the design that I saw in my many cappucinos. To create this shoe I used wood venir, mirror plexi glass, and bronze sheet metal that was cut by hand with a jewelry saw.
