IMAGINED TRAINS

Imagined Trains was born out of 4 years of riding the trains in Metro Manila, Philippines, as well as in Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. There are 4 trains around the metro, and 3 of them are closely linked. I, for one, love trains, be it in my home country or abroad. One can get a glimpse of the local life and culture. That being said, there are a lot of things that can be improved towards the sustainability, cleanliness, discipline and overall development of this mass rapid transit.

Thanks to Metromanilenyo for this photo. Recently acquired by MPIC, new and improved signages are being put in place.
Imagine if there's an app that can guide you on your daily commute. Or perhaps make a tourist feel at ease as he goes around Manila.
Imagine if social media was fully maximized to update you on traffic and transit information?
Imagine if you can get a glimpse of commuters and get awesome portraits of yourself too.
Imagine if ticket cards had a cleaner look, sustainable and easier to use.

Huge bonus if it showed you everything there is to love about your country too!
From the #PHThankYou campaign from Dept. of Tourism and Gang Badoy's initiative. :)

Imagine if there is art everyday.
Imagine if you feel secure during your commute, and passengers are all disciplined citizens. And someone can guide you along the way.
Imagine if passing through tunnels had pretty drawings on the walls.
Thanks to companies like Boysen and TBWA. C/o Jessica Zafra's blog "these murals are seen on the San Lorenzo Wall between Ayala and Pasay Road, Makati (by Jose Tence Ruiz); the pylons and parapets of the MRT on Ortigas, Pasig (by B+C); the Aurora Cubao underpass, Quezon City (by Tapio Snellman); and under the southbound flyover on Tramo, Pasay (by Erika Tan). Imagine if companies "adopted" a station and ads are placed accordingly, while most space is dedicated to commisioned art too. They can be responsible for their "own station" while getting free ad space. Imagined if every month, or every quarter, there's new art to see. Or a thought, or a mural, or music, or art installation, or videos to spark change or a simple conversation.
