This is a passion project where I decided to create a new cover for the Norwegian novel Ida tar ansvar (eng. trans. Ida takes responsibility), released in 2019. 

The story follows a young student named Ida who's studying psychology in Oslo. Her obsession and fear of terror causes great distress and anxiety for her, as she continuously creates scary scenarios in her mind on a daily basis. Then she meets Aksel- an outcast who's taking up subjects in order to qualify for medicine studies. His eerie and depressive personality draws Ida to him and before she knows it, she's confronted with the decision of having to save the world from Aksel, or saving Aksel from himself.

The polar bear on the cover is referring to a recurring conversation between the main character and her therapist, and it greatly sums up the underlying issues the main character struggles with, thus I decided to use that as the main graphic element.
