Editorial illustration – DNA damage

Illustration for an article about DNA damage. Normally, cells have a diploid set of chromosomes. Sometimes, however, there is a quadruple set of chromosomes – the so-called tetraploidy. Such an excess of chromosomes is not uncommon in tumor cells, but the affected cells have to contend with considerable DNA damage.
The illustration and article was published in the
German life science magazine Laborjournal.
