Watch out- Vector realistic watch
For this project I wanted to create a realistic vector watch. The goals were to use adobe illustrator to make a watch look as real as possible. I found a watch that I liked and started to create it. This was one of the hardest projects I have done with illustrator especially where I am new to the adobe programs. I used different tools within adobe illustrator to shapes, gradients, strokes, colors, and more to make this watch. Overall, I wanted to use the tools on adobe illustrator to create this realistic vector watch to match the original watch as best as possible. Sketches
I started out with sketching a bunch of different watches that I found online to give me ideas and get my brain thinking. I chose to sketch out my watches before I picked a picture of a watch to make my brain think more creatively. As I sketched out different watches it helped me to think of different shapes and ways, I could create my vector watch. Here are some of the sketches that I did.
Draft
My first draft of my vector watched turned out better than I thought it would. I had many moments of frustration even making just the draft, but I pushed through to get to this point. I did my best at using different tools to make it look like the original watch. After I finished my draft, I made it a goal to make it look more realistic with a metal look and adding more texture to the band. I got constructive feedback to add more texture and gradients to the color and shape of the overall watch. I tried my best to apply my feedback to my final watch by making the watch have more of a metal look and realistic touches to the overall vector watch.
The final watch
This is my final vector watch. I had a lot of struggles with making this watch, but I did the best I could with the resources I had some great videos to watch from a teacher that helped me learn new ways to create certain parts of this watch. I still want to learn how to better my skills with adobe illustrator and learn how to make better watches. I feel proud of what I did get done with this watch with being new to this type of work.
