In a Stitch
My concept for this project was to create a simple sewing icon set. I chose to recreate basic items that I found in my sewing kit and tried to make simple silhouettes. For this project, I made two rules to try and stick in the same colour palette of pink, grey and white, and to not use heavy outlines.
Up above we have my sketches. I messed around with a few different concepts. I have to admit, I'm not the best sketch artist, that's one thing I would like to improve on. I hit a but of a roadblock half way through sketching as I couldn't think of anymore sewing tools that I could recreate.

This was one of my original drafts. I got some feedback that the needle was too fat and that I could curve the small holes of the thimble to make it look more like it curves around the bend, as it should. I also was told that I really had no cohesive styles to these icons, and so I tried to build off of the needle and scissors and adjust the other icons to match that theme. I also tried to soften some of my edges especially on the reflections on the scissors.
This was my final project. I tried to be most conscious of tangents and took the feedback that was given to me. I do think they look more cohesive through the colours I did. It communicates the message of what each of them are fairly well.
