Collage 1: "Shade of Yellow"
For my first surr-lyrical collage, I based it off of a couple of my favorite songs by Griff, mainly "Shade of Yellow" and "One Night." These two songs may be upbeat musically, but lyrically they are about Griff learning to love herself and being okay on her own. I wanted to show that through the gradual growth of Griff, yellow lighting, withering flower, and deep floral background.

Comments that I received on this piece was that there was a lot going on. I took out the rose, made the lamp and sparks smaller, and made the hue layer less yellow and brought it more into the orange hue.
Collage 2: "Sugar, Sugar"
This collage is based on the song "Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies. This song reminds me of summer days and, obviously, candy. This song is the poster-song for bubblegum music from the '90s, and it is exactly what I think of when there's a blissful, sunny summer day. I wanted to show the run relaxing moment of the girl having a perfect summer day in a pool on a floating lollipop surrounded by sprinkles.
Comments that I received for this piece was to rotate the "float" so that it is more obvious that the model is one a float.
