Uma peça de mobiliário pode transformar e impactar por completo o quotidiano do ser humano alterando o aspeto como descansamos e trabalhamos. Nesse sentido surge a Lounge Chair, projetada em contexto académico, onde o principal objetivo passava pela criação de uma peça de mobiliário orgânica.
A piece of furniture can change and impact completely the human being's daily life, changing the way we rest and work. The Lounge Chair was designed in an academic context, where the main goal was to create an organic piece of furniture.
Os vínculos provocados por emoções, ou determinadas ações, são poderosos e têm capacidade de transformar a forma como visualizamos um produto. Desta forma o objetivo foi implementar o design emocional através de ações que remetam para fortes conexões emocionais, como a leitura ou a amamentação, utilizando o nenúfar como principal fonte de inspiração.
The bonds provoked by emotions, or by certain actions, are powerful and have the capacity to transform the way we visualise a product. In this way the objective was to implement emotional design through actions that recall strong emotional connections, such as reading or breastfeeding, using the water lily as the main source of inspiration.
De modo a reagir a diferentes estados emocionais foram criadas duas versões da poltrona, com materiais distintos. versão em fibra de vidro entrega um design mais moderno, elegante e minimalista, sendo uma excelente opção para interiores sofisticados.
Já a versão em madeira destina-se a criar um ambiente mais confortável, relacionando-se assim com a amamentação e o design emocional.
In order to react to different emotional states, two versions of the armchair were created, with different materials. The fibreglass version delivers a modern, elegant and minimalist design, an excellent option for sophisticated interiors.

Visando obter variações mais orgânicas foi explorado o design generativo, obtendo duas principais soluções. A primeira opção passa pela criação de pequenas fissuras na estrutura, relembrando uma malha. A segunda alternativa passa pelo aumento das fissuras da primeira versão, relembrando as nervuras do nenúfar.
In order to obtain more organic variations, the generative design was explored, obtaining two main solutions. The first option is the creation of small cracks in the structure, reminding a mesh. The second alternative is to increase the fissures of the first version, reminding the ribs of the water lily.
