Chicago bolstered its organizational depth on April 22 by signing 19-year-old defenseman Ethan Del Mastro to a three-year entry level contract. Selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Del Mastro is the third player from the team's 2021 draft class to sign with the team.
Del Mastro spent the last three seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and was captain of the team last season. He recorded 48 points in 68 regular season games and was named OHL Defenseman of the Month in December 2021. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound defenseman also represented Canada at the 2021 Under-18 World Junior Championships, where he had two assists in seven games.
