Ruined by Lynn Nottage

I studied this play for a liberal arts class called 'Theatre, Performance and Politics'.
I was shocked and moved by it. It traces the life of three female prostitues
in war-torn Congo. It explores the plight of women during the atrocities of war.

Coming from India, a strong patriarchal society where women are often unsafe and
abused. I feel strongly for the respect and safety of women in society.

The typographical choices of the book are informed by the plot of the play. The different typefaces
and sizes express emotion and voice. The Typography moves and evolves with the conversation
of the characters and their relationship with each other in the play.
