During the Covid-19 lockdown, I learnt how to use my mother's old sewing machine. I up-cycled unused clothes into themed bags.
While sourcing for materials around the house to make into bags, I found some that had a common theme. Thus, this "themed-bag" idea was born. Though tedious, it was very fun finding unused clothes and items around the house to put together into a functional product.
Gingham Heart Shoulder Bag in Black, 2020
Gingham cloth was sourced from an old dress and inner lining from beige cargo pants.
Zip fastening was store-bought.
Barbie Tote Bag, 2020
"Barbie" label was from an old kids' duvet cover and found pink gingham cloth that matched the Barbie theme perfectly. I attached a turtleshell button to fasten the bag closed.
Spider-man Tote Bag, 2020
"Spider-man" label was from a pair of boys' jeans shorts. It came with a Spider-man button that I attached on the bag as well to fasten close. I used an old red and blue flannel for inner lining.
