For this project we were tasked with picking out a classic book from a certain list. among that list was Ray Bradbury's dystopian classic Fahrenheit 451.
Each piece created had to represent an Object, a Character, and the central setting of the book and i tried hard to portray those themes with a clear concept in mind from the front of the cover down to the very folds
for the first concept i wanted to focus on an underrated theme which is the dandelion Guy Montags wife uses to express if her husband loves her or not. The dying flame represents Montag's boring life as the fire slowly consumes it
For this piece the shadowy figure burning in the flames can represent many characters in the book as he character slowly becomes consumed. The distortion of the figure was an added effect to enable the imagination to fill in the features and be whatever character the reader wishes
A common aspect throughout the book is fire and matches. When combined into this unique shape however, it gives it a whole new light. As Ray bradbury is rather abstract with his setting of the book i thought it fitting to incorporate a metaphor.
