Task
Theme: Play & Engagement
How might we design an exhibition that seeks to engage youths through placemaking and promote awareness of environmental sustainability with the usage of recycled paper tubes as the main building material?

Concept
What draws people’s attention better than themselves? A vanity mirror in a form of a human pin wall, a representation of the narcissism that is inherent in all of us.

Multiple mirrors across the large surface presents a series of reflections, backed with lights peeking from the edges, highlighting the geometry of the design. The installation allows for users to configure the pins, and thus the lighting, giving passers-by autonomy over the work. We hope to encourage interactions and leverage on the aesthetic appeal of the lighted mirrors to work as backdrops for passers-by to take photos with it. We embrace everyone's desire to appreciate aesthetically pleasing objects,
starting with ourselves.
