Textiles Class
In my textiles class at BYU I learned everything from the chemistry of molecules in fibers to how to make yarns, the many ways to make different fabrics, and how to do a variety fabric finishes.
Part of this class which I found to be the most valuable was being able to identify 40 fabrics swatches just by looking at their weaves, yarn structure, and typical characteristics.

Knitting
Practiced knitting by hand along with learning how knitting is done on machines on a larger scale.
Yarn spinning
Learned how to spin yarn using the drop-spindle method.
Batik dying
I painted a wax design then painted over the dry wax. Once everything had time to set I ironed off the painted wax to have a colorful silk scarf.
Weaving on a loom
I learned how to use a loom, what the components are, and how to read a weaving pattern.
Wool Felting
To solidify my knowledge of how wool fibers work with their scales, crimp, and resiliency I wet felted the design below.
