THE WEIGHT OF THE PEN
A broken Mont Blanc pen, an old scale, a small vase from India and a few garden finds make up this still life composition I've titled "The Weight of the Pen". My dad has been a writer and avid reader his entire life so the written word always had heft in the family. The Latin proverb "Verba Volant Scripta Manent" would be most adequate to describe my childhood.
From propaganda to literature, what is the worth of the written word? What is the value of a pen? What is its weight worth?
