Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile COMMERCIAL REMAKE #2

This is my second commercial remake for Nine Inch Nails' popular studio album, The Fragile. The original commercials were released shortly before the debut of this album on September 21, 1999. Similarly to my other projects on the re-design of this album, I wanted to create a strong theme in this commercial pertaining to the themes of man vs nature, the artificial vs the pure. The bulk of the clips in which I filmed for this commercial were taken at the same spot where I captured the 35mm film photo that is featured on the back of the album cover re-design. The idea of capturing photos and videos of these sea creatures trapped inside glass tanks first came to me while stumbling across a certain Chinese Restaurant in Melbourne's CBD while tripping on mushrooms.
As soon as I spotted these animals trapped in the filthy glass tanks, waiting for their inevitable demise, a surge of strange emotions came over me. I was fixated and couldn't seem to suppress powerful feelings of despair and anguish for the ill fated marine life. From that point on, I knew that capturing these damned animals would coincide perfectly with the themes associated with the album's sound and lyrics, so a week later I came back to this same spot with a bunch of video and photography gear both digital and analog ready to ensnare this miserable scene.
Above reveals all the analog photos in which I used in the commercial.
