Gender is a performance. For men existing within a society founded on patriarchy, it is difficult to touch vulnerability - particularly in intimate spaces. In this series I intended to cultivate intimacy through conversations with my subjects about their daily lives, insecurities, and what inspires them. The power of womanhood within this context is represented in the disarmament of classic defense mechanisms normally seen as favorably masculine, yet ultimately create barriers in relational spaces. This is the deconstruction of patriarchy in real time through the power of the feminine gaze.
