For this design project we were to create a board game that was inspired by an old local cotton mill in Pawtucket, RI. I was inspired by the machines that create the spools of thread and the different colors I saw when I was there. I wanted to create a game that reflected the motion of these machines and that was simple enough for children to play since there were many children that worked at this mill when it first opened hundreds of years ago. For the packaging I created my own textile by weaving the threads that are used on the spools and I hand stitched the directions on cloth.
