ODISSI
DANCE FORM ODISHA
CLOSE UP VIEWS
I come from the state of Odisha which is known for its rich culture and heritage.as we were supposed to select an Indian face,  I wanted to dedicate it to my best friend (my school buddy, my classmate, and also my bench mate), who reminds me of the uniqueness of JAGANNATH CULTURE (Odisha Culture).  I've known her to dance Odissi since I was a youngster. She is the most prominent Odissi dancer I have ever seen. Her lovely grin, expression (which is the most essential aspect of Odissi), Bhangi, and the neatness of her dance steps all draw me closer to Odissi. She is the one who shows me what my culture entails every day and makes me proud of my heritage.

Odissi is the Shastriya nritya of Odisha in eastern India. It is recognized as one of the eight classical dance forms of India, and celebrated around the world for its lyricism, sensuality and emphasis on bhakti bhava (attitude of devotion and surrender). It depicts the culture of Odisha. The dance was traditionally practiced as a sacred ritual to ignite transformation in the dancer and audience. It is considered as both a classical and devotional dance form. Odissi mainly deals with religious themes. One of the popular theme is the spiritual love of Radha and Krishna. It is originated in the Hindu temples of Odisha i.e, Odissi is originated from the Jagannath Samskriti.

The reason I chose an odissi dancer face for my assignment is because of a memory I have of my best friend performing her last dance to the song "MALLI MALA SHYAMA KU DEBI" while wearing a red and black odissi costume and holding a mogra garland in her hand with a beautiful expression and being awarded as the event's winner. And it was the final time I saw her perform odissi, and I want it to be remembered forever.

HOOPOE
CLOSE UP VIEWS
When I was a kid, I used to live in a village that was far away from cities but lovely, and I spent over five years there with my small family. My grandfather and I enjoy the best time together. We go for walks in the woods, go fishing together, and generally watch different birds, which is one of my and my grandfather's favorite and most common pastimes. When I couldn't walk, my grandfather lifted me up over his shoulder and we went for a walk.

Even now During the summer vacation, we both began walking and watching birds every evening.... The most prevalent bird in our village is the hoopoe. My grandfather went through every detail of the hoopoe's unusual beauty with me, and I was fascinated one who was paying close attention . Hoopoe is a great memory for both of us from those days. My grandfather's favorite bird is the hoopoe, and he frequently tells me stories about his youth involving the hoopoe and other birds.

Because this bird is my grandfather's favorite and we shared many happy moments, I choose this sample for my embroidery to honor his memory.
