Interactive-LilyShoe

LilyShoe Concept

I’m designing a ballet shoe that reacts to the dancer’s feet movement by simulating interactive visual movement via LED lights attached to the shoe that takes the dancer’s feet movement as an input (using a accelerometer sensor), which will engage the audience more and illustrate/emphasize on the various feet movement the ballet dancer performs on stage. The use of beautiful LED lights synchronized with the movement of a dancer will further engage the audience in the performance.

There will be LEDs attached all along the upper part of the ballet shoe. A lilypad and accelerometer will be placed inside the shoe covered under a pad. The power source will be placed at the center of the bow lace. When the dancer tilts her feet and stands on her toes, the LEDs near the front will light up and the ones at the back will turn off in sequence like a wave (this is based on the accelerometer sensor value). Finally this will all be controlled by a soft sensor that turns on and off the LEDs, which will also be placed where the bow is.
