Local History Museum of Lomonosov City

A complex of works on creating a logo, corporate identity, brand book and site of the Museum of the History of Lomonosov (Oranienbaum).

The city of Oranienbaum-Lomonosov, founded by Duke Alexander Menshikov in 1710, is located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, forty kilometers from St.Petersburg. The name of Mikhail Lomonosov, a brilliant Russian scientist, educator, poet, artist, was given to the city in 1948. At different times, famous Russian scientists, engineers, artists: Igor Stravinsky, Modest Mussorgsky, Alexander Glazunov, Dmitri Mendeleev, Sergei Mosin, Fedor Tokarev, Vasily Degtyarev associated their lives with the city.

The logo was based on a stylized image of an orange tree – a symbol located on the emblem of the city.

Considering the high-tech equipment of the exposition, the agency’s specialists proposed to present the image of the museum in a new way, making it modern and friendly, meeting the world trends in the museum’s identity. The chosen graphic style is organic for various representations, including both subject and electronic formats. A new visual image is aimed at attracting a wider audience and positioning the museum as a modern educational and research institution.
