BrightLock Prototype

The BrightLock prototype was created as an easy solution for the cycling commuter; from college students who tend not to put much effort into bicycle saftey, to commuters who often need to make their way home on bike after sundown during the winter months.
The bracelet serves as both a bicycle lock and a saftey light-up wrist band, depending on how it is connected.
The concept started out as a turn signal jacket, which would feature a light up cuff when the user raised his arm to signal his intent to turn.
After careful consideration of biking routine and ritual, the next iteration attempted to ingrain itself into the average biker's routine by taking a new form, integrating a bike lock into a light up cuff.

The bracelet utilizes a magnetic connection as a clasp, which also works to complete the circuit as soon as the cuff is put on.
