Joe Walsh musician, singer, songwriter produced this solo project after The James Gang, and before The Eagles.  His voice is plaintive like an oboe.  Before the advent of streaming this album favorite was hard to find.

MOODBOARD FOR CHALLENGE

For centuries cast iron cookware has been a staple of kitchens.  A well-seasoned skillet, a Dutch oven, gratin, grill, griddle or bread loaf pan are likely to be treasured and welcome inheritance for many family cooks.  Rugged in use.  Meals can be completed on the stovetop, in an oven, suspended over a roaring fire, under a lid of glowing coals, the original pre-electrification slow cooker, or fiery searer of steaks.

For the brush creation portion of this challenge following the steps demonstrated produces a satisfactory result for circular paths, but corners are not always addressed adequately.
Illustrator automatically generated corners incorporating elliptical elements of the brush patterns.  The screen capture arrows point to the irregularities and the absence of an inside corner (pink highlight).  The machine generated copy was cut with the scissors tool and extraneous paths deleted.  The edited corner was then pasted over into the corner box of the brush panel.  The result cleaned of the blemishes is as shown at the left above.

Had seen a YouTube video to create a spiral with a blend of two ellipses of varied size to achieve a visual result similar to the above. That latter method in addition to the spiral path layer creates many sublayers one for each of the steps between the two objects on the ends of the blend. 

The method above is far more efficient.   Each completed spiral requires only the path of a spiral.

Its stroke is defined as a dashed line of 1 point size and spacing wide enough to maintain distance between each 'dash' and a circle is achieved by setting the stroke corner join and cap to round.  'Butt cap' selection achieves radial lines.  'Projecting cap' results in squares.
Increasing circle size is accomplished by using a triangular brush profile.

The spiral path radius, decay and number of segments can be prespecified for desired appearance results.

For rectangular corners, automatically generated corner emplacements are sheared, so, must make especial corner treatments for inside and outside corners.
