Mock up of title panel and private view invitation design for the 2013 photographic exhibition Light from the Middle East at the V&A museum in London. The exhibition focused heavily on experimental photographic techniques utilized by Middle Eastern photographers. This led to the creation of the private view invitation, which contains three “lens caps” that can be placed on top of the lens of a camera to create different effects in pictures in order to encourage visitors to experiment with photographic manipulation themselves. The design in the three circles was inspired from the fact that there are three types of Islamic patterns: geometric, nature-based, and Arabic script. Each lens cap and circle represents one of these branches.
Oh, and it lights up.
