Ghost busters Movie poster

From an early age I was always obsessed with the Ghostbuster franchise and decided to take it upon myself to recreate the movie poster with me as the subject. 

The Process 

Before starting this project, I knew that there were a few element I had to include in my project. For example, in the original movie it took place in NYC and the movies big elements were their van and the ghoulish creatures that sprang up infesting the city. Knowing this I knew I wanted to have these elements included in my poster as well. 

Color Palette

I also did a lot of brainstorming on which colors were going to be true to the brand, green was for sure a first choice because it represents the slime and ghostly feel. Red and white which represents the Ghostbusters' logo, and lastly black and brown for their uniforms as well as the city because the main thing about the ghost were the when they appear it was at night and they presented a creepy dark aura about them. 

The Thought process 

Once I had the color theme down and the visuals I was trying to portray, I then started taking pictures that showed a lot of action something that could draw in the viewer. To get inspiration I took a look at past blockbuster hits in this genre and noticed that they had a few things, common. They all had the protagonists in front view of the poster striking an action pose. This to me conveyed a message that in the main plot there was battle to be won and that the protagonist was on the winning side along with a few side. 

After taking in this information I definitely wanted this attributes in my work and thought it would be funny to make myself the protagonist and the side characters. Upon taking the flicks, I made sure to make action poses to and to act as if these were scenes from a real movie and to tell a story with these pictures, and to get viewers excited as if this movie was real.
