I once read an old Persian legend about the ranunculus flower, a beautiful nymph caught the heart of a young Persian prince. The prince sang to her all day and all night to show her how much he cared. This made the other nymphs so tired of listening to him sing, 
so they turned him into a ranunculus flower.
I like to imagine this took place by the ocean. This legend inspired this series.
