I've always been interested in mark-making and graphite. With this ongoing series I've set basic parameters in place in regards to size and the type of mark I use. By slowly building up the surface, these tiny abstract works reveal the surface of the paper, subconscious forms, and the movement of my hand. Rather than being large, epic feats, these are intended to be quiet studies which allow for freedom and discovery. The point of these is not to be technically brilliant, but rather to be quiet, simple and expansive.

 

Each drawing is 5" x 7". Their is no smudging or the like, just the repetitve layering of graphite on paper and erasing.
