My name is Octavio Galicia, I am a recently enrolled college student who wishes to create posters for theatre.
This is the first poster I ever designed and it is actually for a show I directed! At my high school, if you took all years of theatre classes you were able to direct your own show.
The top design is the first draft I created, as you can see it works but is missing a lot of little details that make the poster truly stand out. For example the cracks are less defined, the S is not centered, there’s no shadow for the ribbon, etc.
The bottom design is something I played around with later on, the yellow was a favorite of mine. The colors worked well together but ultimately I went with the white background as it really makes the heart emblem stand out which is the focal point.
And finally here is just the heart emblem.
