We now know more than ever, how much we need to protect our environment. Climate Change is an issue we need to take seriously.
Last year I worked on ‘Forest For Change: Artivism For Nature’ with Slam Out Loud (@slamoutloud ) in collaboration with World’s Largest Lesson (@theworldslesson ) and Global Commons Alliance.
Through a one-of-a-kind, nature-positive approach to including children in the fight against climate change, it takes students through 5 engagements that aim to extend student learning on the theme of Nature-positivity. Instead of a destructive outlook towards the living world, nature-positivity calls for us to regenerate, restore and regrow nature.
Our goal is to help young learners understand what it means to be nature positive while also understanding arts as a powerful medium to advocate for change. Not only do students become aware of the complexities in environmental issues in the duration of this 1 hour learning session, but they also learn how to express themselves through artivism. It allows them to build empathy towards nature and other living species and inspires them to take corrective measures to conserve biodiversity.
