The Timeline History titles by Worth Press Ltd are known for their orderly approach to historical and cultural subjects. In this title, a gatefold map and introduction are followed by the ‘timechart’ which comprises the first section, recording historical events year by year with illustrations and boxed stories to highlight specific details. The following feature or essay pages examine aspects of the subject in more detail, often with many illustrations and charts. 

 

The design was required to reflect the Middle Ages, and I used gold touches to add a feel of the illuminated manuscripts of the period. The ornate chapter headings and decorative borders as well as endpapers add further detail.
