"Simultaneous Contrast" is the effect that occurs when you place different colors in comparison next to each other. This packaging project was used to showcase this color contrast through a presentation of chocolate boxes. The class was asked to do a series of gouache swatches, match the swatches digitally on the computer, and then use that palette for a design that demonstrated simultaneous contrast. The color palette chosen for the boxes were Autumn and Thanksgiving-themed. As a nod to the upcoming holiday, I also chose to use the design of a singular autumn leaf textile pattern. For all of the chocolate boxes I made. For my "surprise" element to this project, I decided to make four different kinds of chocolate from scratch—Walnut, Mixed Berry, Peanut Butter, and Almond.
