Wearable Technology

The problem :
With old age comes a loss of ones short term memory. Whether it be just forgetting what you needed at the shop or missing the time for your pill, we all have someone in our lives who in our opinions is losing their marbles a little. In the UK alone there are over 800,000 people living with dementia and a large percentage of these people live with partners, carers or other family right up until they are unable to anymore.

Our solution :
So how can we help make these people's lives slightly better as well as relieving some of the pressure off partners, carers or family ? When we conducted some research into electronic products for the elderly we were struck as too how few of them were genuinely easy to use and useful for the person.

We have designed a super easy-to-use memo device designed for individuals suffering from memory loss.

In terms of a target market, we felt that this product is perfect for anyone who is the early stages of dementia or anyone who is just becomming a bit more forgetfull with age.
DEVICE 1

Device 1 allows partners, carers or family to vocally record in the individual’s weekly plans or memos, which are then automatically updated daily on Device 2, ensuring that they are made aware of any plans for that day.

Device 1 also allows partners, carers or family to set alarms to signify when the individual should take their pill. These are then once again updated onto Device 2 which will alert the individual when its time for their pill.
DEVICE 2

Device 2 is completely designed around being easy to use, featuring only a large easy to see button. When pressed the individual will be played the recordings of their days plans/memos. If pill alarms are set, the individual is able to turn them off by simply pressing the button.

Device 2 also comes with a neck cord, ensuring that the individual has the device on them at all times, reducing the ironic risk of them forgetting where they put it. If this was to happen then Device 2 features a location button, which signals a 'find me' alarm on Device 1
The two devices slot together which then allows the partners, carers or family to record straight onto the device, with no need for a computer.
