For my graphic design senior project, which I would spend and entire quarter working on, I decided with my professor's approval to make a series of how-to cookbooks from scratch. I wanted to expand on my typography, layout, print production and photography skills, try something I had never done before (bookmaking), and also include one of my many creative outlets –cooking!
I decided with the time I had I could make 3 cookbooks. I carefully plotted my development schedule keeping my other school, personal, and work commitments in mind. I managed the entire creative process: brainstorming concepts, storyboards and shot lists, coordinated photo shoots, processed my images, learned bookbinding and how to print a booklet myself with postscript files, tested papers, and bound the whole little things together with coptic stitched that I also learned for this project.
The final result was well received and some students in the class wanted to buy my books!
