Graphic Design: Grammys Event Poster

For this project, we had to create an event poster for an event this year. Unfortunately there are no Beyoncé concerts, this year so I decided on doing this year's Grammys! I decided to go off of this year's advertisement and take design cues from previous years. Looking at previous event posters for the Grammys, they typically have a very simple design with the Grammy Award front and center. This year was no different and the theme was a kaleidoscopey, psychedelic, iteration of the award. So I decided to incorporate this in my poster! I wanted to have a very free form kaleidoscope background so that's what I did first. I had found a "iridescent metal background" and pasted it into photoshop. From there, I repasted it several times, masked, and took the paint brush tool to "shave" off specific parts of the background to create a new one that was more like the vibe I wanted. From there I found this year's posters and selected and cut out the Grammy Award I felt matched my background the best. Im a sucker for repetition so I thought it would be fun to play with the sizing and repetition of the award, keeping it simple but still different from previous posters. As for the branding, I kept it pretty identical to the posters from this year.
