2. Building

This term we were give the assignment to make different environments, props, and buildings according to the themes we had picked. For this assignment you picked 5 cards with your themes. These are the themes I picked out:
Weapon Set - Transport Vehicle Air - Watchtower - Ocean Floor - Romantiek
Concept:
For this assignment I came up with the idea to make a watchtower that is so old it's falling apart, yet still stands upright, with a sparkle of fantasy. This came forth of the time era where the people would make a lot of artificial ruins. I also put effort in putting repeated patterns such as curves and patterns in the design.
Mood- Styleboard / Study:
2D Work:
We had to start out with making 2D drawings of our design. I started the process by making a few silhouettes and work on the designs from there. I had trouble finding one silhouettes that I liked so I picked two and went with it until I found the right design for me.
3D Work:
After I finished the 2D process I continued my work in Maya where we had to work out our building in 3D.
Feedback:
I've received feedback during my work process. Most feedback was about how I could make the building stand out. This was by making the tower hollow and add small pebbles/debris around the building.
One feedback I was excited to work with was to play around with the light settings in Sketchfab to create a environment that really made the mood clear.
The results of this feedback can be found back in the end results.
