Noctilucent  began as an exploration of the translation between paper folding to plastic. The realization of this object gave it its name: Noctilucent , or 'night shining' in Latin, to reflect the luminous nature of the partially hidden polypropylene when lit in a particular way. The layering of material gave the piece a duality that enabled both materials to support and balance each other.
