Kuchaman Fort - the lost water fountain of Thar

Retracing Kuchaman

The following project was created as part of my internship at the Kuchaman Fort in 2019. Three of the four major zones were recorded. The fort is a water harvesting powerhouse in the searing heat of Rajasthan, with 17 tanks connected methodically to collect and store water. The documentation was created with the aim of restoring the fort to its former splendour. My job was to measure the tanks and the surrounding areas, as well as map the present status of the materials. Out of the seven zones I covered, I only featured one of the main parts of the fort named the Sunehri Burg in this post.
Sunehri Burj - the royal quarters

The royal bedrooms, pool, and other entertainment areas were all located in this wing of the fort. Along with the overall measurement, the materials were noted, as well as their wear and tear.
Sunehri Burj drawings

Drawings for the royal apartments that are scaled. Marble and precious golds were among the materials used. My task was to map it as closely as possible to its current state while also projecting the original design based on the findings.
Thanks for checking this out :)
