Identity Design
Mahalasa Enterprises is a Nagpur based company that facilitates heat treatment for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
We came up with a identity design for them that projected the company’s values along with their scope of work. As one of the hardest substances on earth, Diamond is used as an indenter to verify the hardness of the treated jobs. The concept behind using this element was to derive the sturdiness associated with diamonds and correlate the same with the company’s identity.
We went with a simple, clean and bold design direction to ensure suitability on signages in heavy industrial areas as well as office stationery and digital media.
“Transforming Metals”
Owing to the company’s extensive experience in the industry, we wanted to use a tagline that re-established their scope of work in a simplistic and direct manner.
The process of Heat Treatment involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve the desired results such as hardening or softening of a material. Hence the colour black and red that remind of the heat treatment process. White and Gold add a clean, contrasting look to the other two and help complete the brand palette.
The starting point was to identify key elements associated with the company which added value and recognition to their work. We sought to have a functional logo that could enable effective communication of their scope of work. With multiple site visits, client interactions and secondary research on the subject matter, we were able to identify such elements and derive an identity design to achieve the same.
We also presented these equally compelling options for the client’s review using other elements that defined the company’s identity. These are some of these other options. Each one is based on a unique keyword derived from the brief that we co-created with the owners of the company.
